My reactions to this chapter was so unbelievable I basically didn't like the part where Cassie had to call Lillian Jean "Miss" just because she was black and Lillian Jean was white.
ReplyDeleteMy reactions to this chapter was just so sad because when Mama was telling Cassie that Mr. Simms thought Lillian Jean was better then her just because she was white. Then when Cassie just got real mad about how no one should be judged on their skin color that had really touched me. I just think that that moment was really heart warming to me because no one should be judged on their skin color, or race.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Saran on Chapter 6 because no one should be judge by the color of their skin. But during those times that's how it was. Most of the Blacks made theirselves think that White's was better and thats what was wrong with our kind then. I feel that she was wrong for saying that to Cassie.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Netta, and Saran because they know just like Cassie's mom that Cassie is better then Lillie Jean but Lillie Jeans father thinks that Lillie Jean is better than Cassie. The part of the chapter that was very inspiring/uplifting was when the mom was giving Cassie the speech about how she knows Lillie Jean isn't better then her and how she told Cassie about what "niggres" are. This was uplifting to me because it was a mom and daughter moment.
